I'm still trying to wrap my head around all that happened in the year that was. There are no words. It's like everything in me is refusing to look back. Not in fear of unearthing the bad stuff or lack of gratitude (I know I'm beyond blessed), but somehow it just feels pointless. Sure, I'm taking all the lessons and the memories are intact, but...2013 is no more and I couldn't care less.

But what's weirder is I'm also not as girl scout-ready as I usually am for the new year. I had been anticipating it for most of the last quarter, yet not a single brain cell gave a frak for a head start. No resolutions, no solid goals, not even made-up errands for the coming weekend. I have big ideas about how I'd like the year to pan out but I haven't even figured out the first step. And I'm not scared.

I'm hoping my lack of feelings for the past and the future only means that I'm finally learning to live in my now. Because I'm usually lost on memories passed and the ones I want to make that I fail to give myself completely to what's in front of me. I'm still frustrated about a lot of "yester"-things but I'm not so eager to get answers. I can do with eventually. As for tomorrow, I'll get to it. I'm sure about that - I may be impulsive but I'm not spontaneous. And I'm not in a hurry.

So, hah. 2014, eh?
