In retrospect: May

9:55:00 PM

1. If 2015 is shaping up into anything, it's the year I finally jump (back?) into the fit train. Morning yoga, night walks, a little bit of weekend hiking - May had me worked up to work out. Now, I'm a million burpees away from looking like those training video chicks, but I've found that an active lifestyle makes for a great distraction from all the lemons life chooses to throw at me. Well, here's to hoping I don't fall off the wagon.

2. I must admit that part of the motivation, at least for the first half of the month, was the beach trip that almost didn't happen. Let's save that story for another day but for now, all you need to know is that Quezon beaches are underrated. I HAVE BEACHED AND GUESS WHAT, IT WASN'T ENOUGH.

3. In case you missed it, May 18 was International Museum Day. A host of museums in Manila participated by offering free day trips, with all three parts of the National Museum going for a month-long celebration. We made it to the Museum of the Filipino People on the last day. Two hours were not enough to see everything but, the good news is, we have more time now as the NCCA just announced that it's waving entrance fees until the end of June!

Also, Pinto Art Museum. YAAAS, FINALLY.

4. Last month's major milestone: not dying while climbing a rocky mountain in Rizal. Without a rope.

5. My regular schedule at the office is slowly being eaten up by new biz pitches and client presentations. I am out of my comfort zone. It can get stressful and scary to lead projects but, whenever I feel like ranting and running away from the work, I remind myself that it's the only way up. It's encouraging to know that there are people who believe that I can do more and are actually giving me a chance to prove it. I hope I don't disappoint.

6. I got money on my mind, but only on my mind.

7. Feelings? What feelings?

Now, please excuse me, I have an Entourage binge to get back to.

  1. Congratulations on a successful mountain climbing! I hope it's not your last? :)

  2. I wouldn't even be quick to count it as a first - it's not exactly "legit" mountain climbing, probably only around 20-30 feet of pulling myself atop big rocks - so it's definitely not the last! I definitely see more hikes in the near future. :)
